Welcome to Writing Foundations!

Taking the mystery and misery out of learning to write!

From the Brain

From the Brain is designed to help students summarize topics of information that come from the brain, not a textual source. In essence it is a stepping stone to the 5-paragraph essay model covered in The Basic Essay. Students will write four 1-paragraph essays on topics of their choice.

Skills
The course teaches students how to form topic sentences and support them with details and “story”. Students will also practice the fundamentals of outlining, drafting, revising, style, grammar, and punctuation. This course will meet the needs of students who have completed a Writing Summaries Course and are working their way towards The Basic Essay Course.
