The Basic Essay Course
The Basic Essay is a three-essay course designed to equip students with the skills to tackle any topic using a basic 5-paragraph essay format. Students will learn to master a basic 5-paragraph structure by writing 3 different essays on topics of your choice. On average, the course takes 4-6 months to complete.
Skills
Brainstorming, 5-paragraph essay structure, thesis statements, conclusions, transitions, outlining, narrating, drafting, editing, revising, stylistic techniques, grammar, punctuation, and more.
Syllabus Topics
3 simple topics that allow the writer to focus on the structure and style of effective writing without worrying about difficult content.

Age Level/Prerequisite
Great for Ages 12 and up with recent experience of any Online Writing Summaries Course or Live Writing Foundations I Class.
If your student has not had recent Writing Foundations experience (within the current year), start with a Writing Summaries Course.
