Writing Basics – Short Stories
Writing Basics includes 24 lessons that cover the basics of strong writing using four Aesop’s Fables. The course takes approximately 6 weeks to complete.*
Skills
Outlining, narrating, drafting, self-editing, revising, sentence style and variety, strong verbs, quality adjectives, meaningful adverbs, functional clauses, terrific titles, grammar, punctuation, and much more.

Great for ages 8 and up and a great place for new writers to begin. No prior writing experience is needed!

Shortly after receiving confirmation, you will receive a slew of emails from Ms. B. about top-secret documents to download, how to set up a notebook, how to submit assignments, how to keep track of scores, and your student’s very first lesson about banned words.
*Time for course completion is estimated on an average of 4 submitted lessons per week, Monday through Friday. Each student’s progression may vary. Student has up to one year to complete the course.
Note: As of February 2012, Writing Foundations no longer offers the Writing Basics Narratives Email Courses (IEW Unit 3).
