IEW Lesson Share
Back by popular demand, here are the lesson plans that I wrote for IEW’s Lesson Share site.
The following plans include daily instructions for 15 or 16 weeks of Excellence in Writing lessons for 2 different age ranges. They are easy to use and inexpensive – perfect for those who are just starting out with the IEW program.
Note: Because these plans are divided into 15 or 16 weeks, 5 days per week, the pace can be quite intense for any grade level. Therefore, users may prefer to relax their progression by spreading the lessons throughout a whole school year.
Try the first week completely free! If you like them, download the whole set for just $20! When you enter your email address, the form will take you to PayPal where you can submit payment. Along the way, you will receive an email with a link for downloading all the lesson plans for that set.
(Writing Foundations will never use your email address for any other reason or sell it to anyone!)

16 Weeks Lesson Plans
This 16 week set of lesson plans, with assignments broken down for each day of the week, uses source texts ranging from short paragraphs about animals to fairy tales and Writing from Pictures. This set is targeted for beginning 7-9th grade students but would also be appropriate for experienced upper elementary age students. Older high school students, who would benefit from starting with simpler material and going at a slower pace, may find it useful as well. Because these plans are divided into 16 weeks, 5 days per week, the pace can be quite intense for any grade level. Therefore, users may prefer to relax their progression by spreading the lessons throughout a whole school year.
