The From the Brain course is designed to help students summarize a topic of information that comes from the brain, not a textual source. In essence it is a stepping stone to the 5-paragraph essay model covered in The Basic Essay. Students will write four 1-paragraph essays on topics of their choice. The From the Brain course enables students to move through The Basic Essay Course smoothly and efficiently.
The From the Brain course includes over 38 lessons that take approximately 10 weeks to complete. Due to the self-paced nature of each course, your student’s progression may vary.
The course teaches students how to form topic sentences and support them with details and “story” or personal narrative. Students will also practice the fundamentals of outlining, drafting, revising, style, grammar, and punctuation. This course will meet the needs of students who have completed Report Basics and are working their way towards the Basic Essay course.
Each assignment is broken up into smaller, more manageable bites with detailed instructions and examples. By following the step-by-step process, students are able to digest the skills that they will need through high school and college.
Great for ages 10 and up with recent experience of Writing Summaries.
