Writing Foundations Level Half generally serves students around the ages of 5th and 6th grade levels. The course is designed for mastery of skills; therefore, many students take Level Half for two years in a row. The materials we use for fictional inspiration, report sources, grammar lessons, and vocabulary growth change every year to allow for continued practice and review with new challenges. No two years are ever exactly the same!
Prerequisite: Best for ages 10 and up with no prior writing experience required. Parental assistance and oversight should be provided as needed.
Note: If your upper elementary-aged student struggles with writing, or is not accustomed to an online class or a structured homework schedule, it is imperative that a parent watch the class with the student for the greatest success.
Level Half may also be considered for older students who need a more gentle introduction to a composition class.
